Minimum Volume
Fill blue top tube to the indicated line. A minimum volume of 1 mL of separated plasma must be submitted for testing.
Special Handling
Draw blood in a light blue-top tube, mix gently by inverting 3-4 times. Centrifuge within 1 hour of collection. Using a plastic pipette, remove plasma, taking care to avoid the WBC/platelet buffy layer rand place into a plastic vial. Centrifuge a second time and transfer platelet-poor plasma into a new plastic vial(s). Freeze immediately.
