Special Instructions
Draw a discard tube with no additive or discard syringe of 3-5mL prior to collecting blood. This clears the needle and tubing of any tissue thromboplastin that is released during the process of accessing the vein.
Thoroughly mix specimens by inversion several times upon collection.
Clotted specimens cannot be tested.
